Falls Creek 2012

Falls Creek is our Student Ministry’s biggest event of the year. This years camp is June 11-16 and we want your students (7-12 grade) to join us for the best week of their summer. Falls Creek is the nations largest youth camp with over 6,000 students attending each session. The cost is $150.00 for the week. Get in the Game – Ministry Fair

On Sunday, 4/22 we will have a Central Ministry Fair. All of the ministries at Central, like Men’s and Women’s, Properties, Music, Youth, Ushers & Greeters and many more, will have displays set up in the hallways and foyers. You will have an opportunity to talk to the leaders and see how you might get involved. Contact Matt Flindt in the office if there is a ministry you would like to start and want to set up a display.

VBS 2012

VBS 2012 is cleared for takeoff!

Watch amazing things happen as kids encounter God like never before—all against the backdrop of some of the world’s most marvelous natural wonders. As kids explore Psalm 147:5, they’ll recognize God’s power over all things, trust that God is always in control, accept God’s gift of forgiveness, celebrate that Jesus is alive, and rely on God’s power.

Children ages 4 years old (by June 1) through 6th grade are invited to join us July 15-19 from 6-8:30pm.

Central 5k Run

On New Year’s Day Pastor Scott announced his commitment to lose weight, get healthier, and begin an exercise program so that he can run a 5K by the end of March. And he wants you to join him. You can run, walk, ride a bicycle, or any combination. So get your running shoes ready to join the race on April 14th at 9:00am. We are going to have our own Central 5K run/walk/bike ride held at Centennial Park in Owasso.

It’s not too late for you to start training. This will not be a certified 5K and no prizes will be awarded; however, we will ask everyone who participates to make a donation of whatever financial sum they would like to benefit Owasso Community Resources. So go ahead, get your walking shoes on and get ready. It’s going to be a lot of fun!

To register for the run, download the registration form here and return it to the envelope posted on the display case in the Missions hallway.

Men’s Retreat 2012

2012 CBC Men’s Freedom retreat April 6 & 7.
@ Spring Valley Ranch outside Jay, OK.
For: all Men (18 – 80 and up)

Missions Conference 2012

On Sunday, 2/12 from 3-5pm, we will be having a church-wide Missions Conference. Our missions committee will be sharing more about our current missions structure, as well as telling you all about the opportunities that are available for church members to get involved in. It is still a month away but we really want to encourage everyone to attend, so put it on your calendars now. Childcare will be provided by reservation only — please RSVP by Wednesday, 2/8 if you want childcare.

Lord’s Supper & QBM

Women’s Ministry Studies

We have 2 women’s Bible studies (“Mercy Triumphs” & “What’s So Amazing About Grace”) that are kicking off in January. There is also a big kickoff event for the Beth Moore study this Saturday from 10-12 – The Women’s Ministry is starting a new Bible study the week of January 10th by Beth Moore entitled “Mercy Triumphs,” which covers the book of James. This kick-off session will be a time to introduce facilitators, talk about the study, sell books, etc. Snacks and coffee will be provided.

Discovery Class - 2012 Schedule

The Sunday morning Discovery Class consists of four sessions. You do not have to go through the four sessions in order. If you miss an individual class you can make it up the next time it is taught. You also do not have to register in advance, though it is appreciated. Childcare for all ages is taken care of because it is done during the Sunday School hour. Each of these classes will be done in Pastor Scott’s office, unless told otherwise, from 9:30-10:30 A.M.

June 3, 10, 17, 24

July 15, 29, Aug, 5, Aug 12

September 9, 16, 23, 30

October 14, 21, 28, Nov. 4

Alternatively, intensive classes are offered throughout the year, and they are two hours long. Important: Required to take the intensive class is to sign up at least a week in advance, pick up materials from church office, read material prior to the class, and reserve childcare with the church office, if needed, at the time of registering.
