Missions Conference 2012

On Sunday, 2/12 from 3-5pm, we will be having a church-wide Missions Conference. Our missions committee will be sharing more about our current missions structure, as well as telling you all about the opportunities that are available for church members to get involved in. It is still a month away but we really want to encourage everyone to attend, so put it on your calendars now. Childcare will be provided by reservation only — please RSVP by Wednesday, 2/8 if you want childcare.

Lord’s Supper & QBM

Women’s Ministry Studies

We have 2 women’s Bible studies (“Mercy Triumphs” & “What’s So Amazing About Grace”) that are kicking off in January. There is also a big kickoff event for the Beth Moore study this Saturday from 10-12 – The Women’s Ministry is starting a new Bible study the week of January 10th by Beth Moore entitled “Mercy Triumphs,” which covers the book of James. This kick-off session will be a time to introduce facilitators, talk about the study, sell books, etc. Snacks and coffee will be provided.

Discovery Class

Dates for the next Discovery Class are 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, and 2/5. The class meets at 9:30a in Scott’s office. There will also be an alternative one-session class Saturday, 1/21 from 9:30a-noon. If you plan to attend the Saturday class, you must sign-up by Thursday, 1/19 and request childcare if needed. If no one signs up, the class will not be held. Please sign up on the bulletin tear-off, any bulletin board, or at the information desk. Join the class at any time and make up any missed sessions in the next series. SESSION ONE: “Centered in Christ” SESSION TWO: “Connected With People” SESSION THREE: “Committed to Serve—Ministry” SESSION FOUR: “Committed to Serve—Missions” Guests, Prospective Members, Current Church Members and anyone wanting to know more about CBC, what we believe and where we are going as a church may join this ongoing class at any time. It is not mandatory that you sign up for the Sunday class, but it would be appreciated.

New Years Eve Prayer Time

The CBC Men’s Ministry is sponsoring an informal time of prayer for the whole family. Come join us on New Year’s Eve as we “Pray In” 2012. You may come anytime between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM and leave at your own time.

Christmas Services

Christmas Eve Family Service will be at 5pm.

There will only be one service at 10:45a on Christmas Day. There will be no Sunday School that day so that you can celebrate Christmas with your families before coming to worship together Christmas morning.

On New Year’s Day, church services and Sunday School will follow our regular schedule.

Lottie Moon Chili Cook Off

It’s that time of year again for the Lottie Moon Christmas offering to support missionaries in the IMB around the world. Our church goal is to raise $10k. This year we will be pitting Sunday School classes against each other in a chili cook-off to raise funds. The cook-off will be December 4th after the 10:45a service in the Fellowship Hall. Each class needs to provide chili and enough food to feed their class. Larger classes can enter more than one chili. Bring your best cornbread, side dishes, and desserts as well. A World Without Christmas

Make plans to join us for our Christmas musical drama on Dec 10 & 11 at 6:00pm entitled “A World Without Christmas“. Come see what life would be like if Christ had never came as a man named Joel gets his wish of having a world without Christmas in this multimedia production presented by the CBC Choir & Drama ministry. Tickets (for promotional use, don’t worry it’s free!) are available in each foyer. This years musical will be one you won’t want to miss!
